Books on the Bay is delighted to share some exciting news with our festival community. Starting in 2026, our official partner for book sales will be Wordsworth Books.
Founded in the Western Cape in July 1993, Wordsworth Books has grown to an impressive 19 stores, located primarily across the Cape, with additional branches in Pretoria and Durban. Over the past three decades, Wordsworth has become a trusted name for book lovers, combining the reach of a well-established bookseller with the heart of a truly independent store.
Despite its growth, Wordsworth remains fiercely committed to the principles on which it was founded: authenticity, passion, and a dedication to promoting a culture of reading. Its knowledgeable staff – all passionate readers themselves – have built a reputation for offering personal recommendations and thoughtful guidance, living up to the store’s well-loved motto: “we sell books the old-fashioned way – we read them.”
We believe this partnership is a natural fit for the Books on the Bay Literary Festival in Simon’s Town. Together with Wordsworth Books, we look forward to bringing an even richer literary experience to our audiences, celebrating books, writers, and the joy of reading.
